RCMP in Prince Edward Island
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is the Canadian national police service and an agency of the Ministry of Public Safety Canada. Prince Edward Island is policed by the RCMP through a Provincial Policing Services Agreement (PPSA) with the Government of Canada in all communities that do not have an existing municipal police department. The towns of Stratford and Cornwall have direct policing contracts with the Government of Canada for their RCMP services. The RCMP also provides federal policing services across the Island as well as to First Nations communities and the Confederation Bridge.
