If you are an active volunteer firefighter, there is no cost to register your vehicle registration which includes first-time registration for 6-17 months for a new vehicle and annual vehicle registration renewal.
You must use the free vehicle registration plate on the vehicle you operate. If no vehicle is registered to you, the plate may be used by a member of your immediate family or your business provided you operate the business.
What do I need to obtain the volunteer firefighter registration plate?
An original Identification Letter for Private Vehicle Registration from your volunteer fire department, signed by the provincial fire marshal, may be presented at any Access PEI location.
How do I get a replacement volunteer firefighter plate?

What if I am a retired volunteer firefighter?
If you are a retired volunteer firefighter with at least 15 years of active service, the Firefighter License Plate Program has been expanded to honour your service. Please visit Retired Volunteer Firefighter for more information.
