The province is seeking input from people in a new survey to help government better understand the scope of the cleantech sector in Prince Edward Island.

The Cleantech Profile Survey will assist government to develop a profile for the sector and guide decisions and initiatives to support growth in this area.

“Many Island businesses are expanding into cleantech and companies with multiple products and services are often unaccounted for when examining the cleantech sector. We want to make comprehensive investments in this sector to drive sustainable growth and position our province as a leader in cleantech innovation.”

— Environment, Energy and Climate Action Minister Gilles Arsenault

Cleantech is defined as any process, product, or service that reduces negative environmental impacts through significant energy efficiency improvements, the sustainable use of resources, or environmental protection activities.

The survey aims to gather information about cleantech companies, businesses that have expanded their products or services into cleantech, the industries involved, and the size of the workforce in this sector.
