Statement by Premier Lantz and Minister Thompson on Old Home Week

Hon. Rob Lantz, Premier of Prince Edward Island, and Hon. Bloyce Thompson, Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture, issued the following statement on Old Home Week:

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year – a chance to celebrate Prince Edward Island’s deep agricultural roots and one of our oldest, most successful, and vibrant rural traditions. 

Old Home Week is a proud showcase of Island farming, livestock, and harness racing – all of which are at the heart of our province’s economy, culture, and way of life. 

From 4-H competitions and horse shows to live music and midway rides, there’s something for everyone. It’s a time to reconnect, celebrate the contributions of our farm families, and enjoy all that rural PEI has to offer. 

We encourage everyone to take part, support our producers, and enjoy the festivities. 

Most of all, have fun and stay safe.
