Everyone who receives treatment through Health PEI has a health record. Health records contain information such as reports from care providers, results of tests such as blood work and diagnostic imaging (X-ray, MRI, etc.), and prescribed medications. Health records can be in paper or electronic format, or a combination of both. You can request a correction to your personal health information if you believe there is an error in the information contained in your health records at a Health PEI facility. The Health Information Act outlines specifically what Health PEI is permitted to change in these records, and what is not permitted to change, including professional opinions or observations in your health records.
