Mr. Jamie Aiken holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island. He began his career in 2001 with Beaton Fitzpatrick Murray Chartered Accountants (now BDO), earning his Chartered Accountant designation in 2004. During his tenure there, he provided services in business consulting, audit tax preparation, and financial analysis.
In 2007, Mr. Aiken began his public service with the Department of Economic Development. Over the years, he has enjoyed the opportunity to work in a variety of roles supporting various businesses and entrepreneurs across the province, with a focus on business development and strategic initiatives.
In 2013, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Finance PEI and Executive Director of Island Investment Development Inc., where he oversaw the Province’s lending portfolio, Provincial Nominee and Immigration Programs, and various government capital projects. A decade later, in April 2023, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Innovation, and Trade, while continuing his role as CEO for Finance PEI.
Since August 2023, Mr. Aiken has served as the Clerk of Executive Council and Secretary to Cabinet in the Executive Council Office.
Jamie resides in Cornwall with his wife Kelley and their three children.
