The Digital Trust Authentication and Authorization Service (the “Service”) is a remote identity confirmation process being evaluated through a pilot project of the Department of Health and Wellness (“DHW”), Health PEI, and Information Technology Shared Services (“ITSS”), which is open to users. The process is designed to authenticate users either online or in person, with government-issued identification. With a user's consent, the process validates information provided by the user against information in two databases: one maintained by Health PEI (if the user chooses to provide their health card information) and the other maintained by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure in connection with driver's licenses and voluntary identification.

Users who are authenticated will be issued a digital credential (“MyPEI Account”) that they can use in the same way as a token or other login credential to access some of their information records electronically and eventually certain services. For the purposes of these Terms of Service, the Service only includes software and services provided by the Government of Prince Edward Island, including the MyPEI Account and an account in the Service's ID Store (“Account”). Users may be asked to accept other terms and conditions of use based on the service they are requesting.

Notice of Collection

Consent for Data Sharing

By signing up for the MyPEI Account service, you agree that:

  • The information you provide during registration, including data from your Driver’s License or Voluntary ID, may be shared with Government of PEI digital services.
  • If you choose to provide your Health Card information, data from your Health Card records may also be shared with these services.
  • This information will be used by these services when you log in to your MyPEI Account.
