A by-election to fill a recent vacancy in the District of Summerside-Wilmot will be held October 17.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan made the announcement at the Silver Fox Community Complex following a Cabinet meeting this morning.
“Holding the by-election in October will ensure residents of Summerside-Wilmot are represented in the next sitting of the Legislative Assembly, which begins in November,” said Premier MacLauchlan. “Prince Edward Island is known for its high voter participation and I encourage all constituents of the District of Summerside-Wilmot to participate in the democratic process by getting involved and casting a vote in the upcoming by-election.”
