Changes to senior management and IRAC announced

Premier Dennis King today announced the appointment of Sherry Gillis, Q.C., as acting Deputy Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Deputy Attorney General. 

Ms. Gillis is from Cornwall and has served as a solicitor with the Department of Justice and Public Safety since 2000. She brings to the role considerable legal, administrative and leadership experience in government. Her appointment is effective January 6, 2020. 

The Premier also confirmed the appointment of Erin Mitchell of Mermaid, current Deputy Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Deputy Attorney General, as a full-time Commissioner with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission. Her appointment is for a five-year term and fills a vacant position with the organization. 

Cynthia McCardle of Kinkora has been appointed as a part-time Commissioner for a first term of three years. Terry McKenna of Charlottetown was re-appointed as a part-time Commissioner for a second term of three years.
