The COVID-19 outbreak in the Specialized Psychiatric Care Unit of Charlottetown’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital has been declared over.

Patients/Residents in Long Term Care and Mental Health and Addictions transitions and recovery homes can have up to six Partners in Care and three designated visitors with only two permitted at the bedside at any one time when operationally safe to do so.

Health PEI would like to thank staff for their dedication in managing and limiting this outbreak.

The public is reminded that Health PEI requires people to wear a mask at all its hospitals, long term care homes, health centres, service areas and offices for the safety of patients and staff. Visitors are not permitted to eat at a patient’s bedside. Visitors should also stay home if they are feeling unwell.
