Eligible Islanders can get free help with energy efficiency in their homes and apartments.

Through efficiencyPEI’s Winter Warming program, an efficiencyPEI tradesperson will help with air sealing measures and free energy efficient items and services such as the installation of a programmable thermostat.

“Now is the perfect time to get your home or apartment ready to save money on energy this winter,” said Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy Minister Steven Myers. “efficiencyPEI is here to help Islanders on a low-to-moderate income, so that everyone can make their homes winter-ready, while also helping the environment.”

efficiencyPEI‘s Winter Warming program is available to Islanders – including renters - with a total household income of $50,000 or less. Services include caulking, sealing of electrical fixtures, installation of a low-flow showerhead, a voucher for a free heating system cleaning, installation of LED light bulbs, and other electricity savings measures.

Along with Winter Warming, efficiencyPEI offers many additional energy efficiency services. Anyone interested in reducing their energy costs this winter can visit any Access PEI location, one of efficiencyPEI’s offices in Charlottetown or Summerside, or Energy Efficiency to find an efficiency program that is right for them.
