Island residents can now receive assistance at Access PEI locations to apply for health care related services.

This additional assistance offered province-wide will make it easier than ever to apply for a health card, be added to the registry, and register for virtual care.”

The Department of Health and Wellness and Health PEI have partnered with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure to assist Islanders seeking to apply for PEI health cards, register for the patient registry and register for access to virtual care.
“We want to make it easier for Islanders to access government services and this is another step in the right direction,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister, Ernie Hudson. “Access PEI will continue to expand appointment based and walk-in services across the Island as part of Service PEI’s promise to make government services more accessible to Islanders.”
The following in-person services are now available at all Access PEI locations across Prince Edward Island:
- Assistance for Island residents seeking to complete health card applications;
- Assistance for Island residents without a primary care provider to register for the Provincial Patient Registry;
- Assistance for Island residents seeking to sign up for the Unaffiliated Virtual Care program via the Maple platform.
Island residents seeking to register for the patient registry and virtual care must have a PEI health card. A list of what is required to apply for a PEI health card is available here.
