Residents will have the opportunity this fall to shape the future of the public education system by electing new or returning trustees to serve on the Public Schools Branch and la Commission scolaire de langue francaise’s respective boards.
Both education authorities are governed by their own independent boards of trustees, who are responsible for providing oversight in the delivery of public education across Prince Edward Island.
Administered by Elections PEI, key dates for the upcoming education authority board elections include:
- Nomination period: September 8 - September 26 at 2 p.m.
- Voter registration to vote online: September 8 - October 17 at 11 a.m.
- Voter registration for mail-in ballot: September 8 - September 28 at 11:59 p.m.
- Online voting portal opens: October 3, 2025 12 p.m. - October 17 at 12 p.m.
- Mail-in ballots returned to Elections PEI: October 17 at 12 p.m.
