Community-minded Islanders continue to get involved with the provincial government through Engage PEI, and there are always vacancies available.
In November, 15 Islanders were appointed to seven government agencies, boards, and commissions. Engage PEI helps Islanders apply to volunteer on more than 70 government boards; to find a vacancy that fits your interests, visit www.princeedwardisland.ca/engagepei-vacancies.
“Over the last two years, Engage PEI has helped more than 250 Islanders have their say by volunteering on provincial government boards,” Premier Wade MacLauchlan said. “One of the reasons we are a mighty Island is that we do so many things well in relation to places that are much larger – and one of those things is how Islanders are willing to step forward and work together to make our province a better place to live, work, and prosper.”
Between 10 and 20 vacant positions become available each month. Some vacancies require specific skill sets, so Islanders should regularly check for openings that suit their experience or interests.
To ensure you are considered when a vacancy becomes available, you can submit an application in advance at www.princeedwardisland.ca/engagepei.
