Government is asking Islanders to submit their comments on potential upcoming changes to existing laws in PEI.

As part of the Department of Justice and Public Safety’s mandate to continually modernize provincial legislation, consultation papers on the Notaries and Commissioners Act, International Commercial Arbitration Act, and the Arbitration Act are available online for people to review.

“There are hundreds of statutes and regulations across government, and over 130 statutes that the Department of Justice and Public Safety administers. As part of the department’s regular planning cycle, staff are working to update various pieces of legislation. As we do this, we want Islanders to have the opportunity to send in their comments. Together, we can ensure that we will have robust legislation in this province to serve all residents.”

- Minister of Justice and Public Safety, and Attorney General Bloyce Thompson

Islanders can submit their comments in English or French to justicepolicy@gov.pe.ca until October 22, 2021.
