Island residents are invited to register online or over the phone for the annual provincial hunting workshop.
Taking place Saturday, September 6 from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Charlottetown Trap & Skeet Club in Mount Albion, the free workshop is open to all ages and is designed to teach safety, regulations and technique.
Participants will rotate through stations covering firearm safety, wildlife conservation, hunting regulations, map and compass use, survival skills, and waterfowl hunting techniques. Following this, participants can take part in an instructional skeet shooting session. The PEI Retriever Club will also be providing a hunting dog retrieval demonstration.
The workshop is hosted by the provincial Forests, Fish and Wildlife division, in partnership with Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, Wildlife Conservation Fund, PEI Ground Search and Rescue and the Charlottetown Trap & Skeet Club. Participants who complete this workshop, along with the online portion of the Hunter Safety Course, receive hunter certification and a PEI Wildlife Conservation license.

Registrants are asked to check-in at 8 a.m. the day of the workshop at The Charlottetown Trap & Skeet Club.
