Snowmobilers are getting out and enjoying winter adventures on the former rail line stretching from Tignish in the west, to Elmira in the east.

The Prince Edward Island Snowmobile Association leases the Confederation Trail from the provincial government from December until March, under a 10 year lease agreement.

The public is advised that, during the winter months, the PEI Snowmobile Association has exclusive rights for use of the Confederation Trail and associated spur line trails. This is in effect until March 31, unless otherwise notified.

Snowmobile operators who wish to use the trail must hold a valid permit. For more information, or to purchase a permit contact the PEI Snowmobile Association.
