Statement by Minister of Education and Early Years on the last day of classes
The Minister of Education and Early Years Robin Croucher issued the following statement to congratulate students and staff on completing another successful school year:
“As the school year comes to an end, I want to celebrate the efforts, dedication, and achievements of students, staff, and school communities across Prince Edward Island.
This year came with its share of opportunities and challenges, but time and again, students, educators, and families have met them with care and strength. In school classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and offices, we’ve seen kindness, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making learning meaningful.
What remains constant is the dedication of our educators and school staff to encourage students’ curiosity and support them through their learning inside and outside the classroom. You continue to show up for students, not only to teach, but to guide, protect, and support them. Your impact on their knowledge, confidence, and creativity is powerful and lasting.
To our students: thank you for your energy, curiosity, and perseverance. Whether you’ve just completed your first year of school or walked across the graduation stage, you’ve each grown in your own way. You've learned new things, built new friendships, and kept moving forward, even when it wasn’t easy. Be proud of everything you have achieved.
Congratulations to our graduates on reaching this milestone. As you head into this next chapter, know that the skills, experience, and values you’ve gained will serve you well.
As we head into summer, I hope everyone takes time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. We look forward to the new possibilities a fresh school year will bring in the fall.”
