Statement by Premier King on the passing of former MLA Roger Soloman

Hon. Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, issued the following statement on the passing of former MLA Roger Soloman:

"Roger was a passionate community member and leader. As a teacher and principal, he inspired his students to achieve and succeed. As an MLA, he always tried to be helpful to all constituents regardless of their political stripe. As a tourism operator, he was a proud host to all visitors and a tireless promoter of the many attributes of Prince Edward Island.

I was fortunate to cross paths with Roger both professionally and personally. As a young news reporter, I covered Roger’s political career, but I knew him best as a friend and neighbour on Kayes Road in Georgetown Royalty where he owned and operated De Roma Cottages. He was always warm, friendly and kind.

On behalf of the province of Prince Edward Island, I offer my deepest sympathies to Paulette, Terry, Kim, Frank and their families.”
