Islanders continue to lend their voices to government agencies, boards and commissions.

In January, 16 Islanders were appointed to serve on four provincial government boards. Every month, Islanders can submit their application through Engage PEI to one of more than 70 boards that align with their area of expertise and preferred interests.

“Innovation and creativity, coupled with Islanders’ sense of community is what makes Prince Edward Island the Mighty Island,” said Premier Wade MacLauchlan. “Time and time again, I am astounded by the engagement and dedication Islanders demonstrate towards their communities.”

“Thank you to all Islanders, new and returning members, for your continued commitment in making Prince Edward Island the best place to live, work and play.”

Every month, up to 20 board vacancies may be available. Some of the boards currently seeking new members are:

  • Community Care Facilities and Nursing Homes Board;
  • Learning Partners Advisory Council;
  • PEI Funeral Services and Professional Board;
  • Provincial Apprenticeship Board;
  • Social Assistance Appeal Board.
