Motorists can expect substantial delays on the Cornwall Perimeter Highway project this Thursday and Friday, November 17 and 18 as crews apply the final layer of asphalt paving.

Equipment will often occupy two adjacent lanes at a time, and crews may need to limit traffic from accessing particular roads. All motorists – particularly operators of longer trucks and trailers – may wish to avoid using the Trans Canada Highway between North River Road and Maypoint Road on these two days.

Drivers are asked to be alert and to operate with concern for the safety of workers, pedestrians and their fellow motorists. The Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy appreciates the patience the traveling public has shown throughout construction of this project.

Phase 1 of the Cornwall Perimeter Highway is proceeding on schedule, with completion expected in mid-to-late November.
