Deadline extended for Health Promotion Impact Grant applications
There is still time for community groups and organizations to apply for funding to help support wellness initiatives in Prince Edward Island.
The Wellness Grant program provides two different funding opportunities for both small and large wellness initiatives. These grants aim to positively influence community well-being and create supportive, healthy environments for Islanders.
The Community Catalyst Grant provides funding for Island communities with up to $2,500 to support building local capacity for wellness. Submissions for this funding opportunity are being accepted until December 2021 (or until funds last). The next deadline to apply for a Community Catalyst Grant is this Friday, August 27.
The deadline for the Health Promotion Impact Grant has been extended to Friday, September 24. This grant provides up to $10,000 to support larger, targeted projects that focus on modifying risk factors for chronic disease.
The Chief Public Health Office is seeking project proposals for this funding opportunity that focus on one of these areas:
- physical activity
- healthy eating
- responsible alcohol use
For more information and to apply, visit the Wellness Grant program webpage. Applicants are reminded to follow all public health recommendations from the Chief Public Health Office when developing project plans.
