Presiding coroner Dr. Craig Malone confirms today that that the inquest called for the deaths of Danielle White and Olivia Rodd will be postponed due to the evolving COVID-19 situation at the Sir Louis Henry Davies Law Courts.

Out of respect for the families involved and an abundance of caution, the six-member jury and all parties participating in the proceedings have been notified that the inquest will resume in early 2022, subject to the COVID-19 situation in Prince Edward Island

Dr. Malone thanks family members, jurors, all parties involved, members of the public and media, as well as the Courts of Prince Edward Island for their patience and understanding as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve in the province.

Further to the December 7, 2021 notice that Provincial and Supreme Court proceedings were adjourned for the day, the Department of Justice and Public Safety confirms that Charlottetown court matters for both these courts may either be adjourned or proceed virtually today.

Anyone who was previously scheduled to appear in Charlottetown is asked to contact Cindy Stewart at 902-368-6040 for Provincial Court matters or Sandra Ripley 902-368-6023 for the Supreme Court.
