The Executive Council Office is a provincial government department responsible for supporting the Premier and Executive Council, also known as Cabinet. The Executive Council Office provides administrative services for Executive Council, Policy Review Committee and Cabinet Committee on Priorities. Its mandate is to:
- ensure that the Province's interests are represented in international, national and regional discussions;
- support the Minister Responsible for Indigenous Relations;
- provide strategic communications planning and departmental communications across government; and
- administer Engage PEI, a program providing for public application and appointment to various agencies, boards and commissions of the provincial government.

The Executive Council Office is responsible to:
ensure processes, document formats, procedures and standards to support decision-making by Cabinet and its committees
ensure government's priorities are reflected in the business of government departments
receive and coordinate submissions for Cabinet and its committees
prepare agendas and minutes for Cabinet and its committees and maintain its records
disseminate records of decisions (Orders in Council or Minute Letters) and as necessary, follow up decisions or direction with ministers or officials
initiate policies to strengthen governance and accountability for consolidated entities, and
coordinate government’s appointment process for agencies, boards and commissions.
Indigenous Relations Secretariat
The Indigenous Relations Secretariat coordinates government’s response to Indigenous matters within the province. The Secretariat also manages archaeology and paleontology.
Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat
Intergovernmental Affairs provides strategic and corporate relations management with other governments, communities and organizations in support of the Government's vision of Prince Edward Island.
The Protocol Office plans and conducts visit for dignitaries and senior international officials, coordinates ceremonial events for government, and provides information on protocol and precedence occasions or special events.
