Feedback wanted from Island residents on upcoming legislative changes
The Province is inviting residents to share their opinion on changes to provincial laws in PEI.
As the Department of Justice and Public Safety continues to regularly modernize provincial legislation, consultation documents for the following pieces of legislation are now online:
- An Act to Amend the Real Property Act;
- Wills Act;
- Intestate Succession Act;
- Presumption of Death Act;
- Financial and Consumer Services Statutes Amendment Act;
“Making sure that provincial laws are up to date and appropriately reflect our landscape is incredibly important to the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and having public input into these modernizations helps ensure that the legislation better serves our province,” said Minister of Justice and Public Safety, and Attorney General Bloyce Thompson. “We look forward to hearing from Islanders on these updates to legislation and putting forward these changes in the coming months.”
Comments in English or French for all documents can be submitted online to justicepolicy@gov.pe.ca. Comments will be accepted until August 31, 2025.
