Work continues on Phase 1 of the Cornwall Perimeter Highway with activity planned throughout daylight hours from Monday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 8.

Traffic flow on the Trans Canada Highway will remain in both directions but may be reduced from four to two lanes at times, which will result in delays. Motorists may wish to use alternative routes such as Route 2 and the Warren Grove Road when entering and leaving Charlottetown, especially during morning and evening commuting hours

Activities this week focus on installing of storm water handling systems and constructing concrete bases for highway lights. These activities will require heavy equipment in the traveled portion of the highway project.

Drivers are asked to be alert and courteous and to operate with concern for the safety of workers, pedestrians and their fellow motorists. We appreciate the patience of the traveling public during delays caused by construction.

Phase 1 of the Cornwall Perimeter Highway is proceeding on schedule, with completion expected in mid-to-late November.
